TRY IT SESSION - Wheelchair Tennis Try It Session

TRY IT SESSION - Wheelchair Tennis Try It Session on Wednesday, September 9th, 2026 from 5:00pm – 6:30pm at Sobeys Stadium (1 Shoreham Drive, North York). This Try It session is being held during the WC100 Birmingham Wheelchair Tennis Classic, Canada’s highest level of wheelchair tennis tournament in the 2026 UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour. Participants will be able to come early and watch our top Canadian wheelchair tennis players compete against highly ranked international players, before hitting the court themselves during the Try It event with National Team coach Kai Schrameyer. This session is free, no experience is required, all equipment will be provided, and recommended age is 8+. While we will prioritize individuals with a physical disability participating in the session, friends and family members are more than welcome to join if equipment permits. Details on the Try It event are listed below – note this is an outdoor event and may be cancelled due to rain so it is extremely important to register in order to receive updates. Last chance to nominate an emerging adaptive athlete for the 2026 Adaptive STAR Award.

Adaptive S.T.A.R. Award is to be presented annually to an emerging Toronto adaptive athlete who demonstrates Strength, Tenacity, Achievement, and Resilience. $500 will be awarded annually in the first week of June to coincide with National AccessAbility Week (NAAW) in Canada. Toronto residents with a disability up to the age of 25 are eligible to be nominated by a coach/teacher/instructor or parent/guardian in pursuit of their athletic pathway.
