DESCRIPTION:Cruisers Sports is kicking off the 2024 outdoor athletics season with our annual Para Athletics Try It session on May 4th from 11:30am – 1:00pm at the Toronto Track & Field Centre. This event is free\, no experience is necessary\, all ages are welcome\, and all equipment will be provided. While we will prioritize individuals with a disability in trying the events first\, friends and family members are more than welcome to join and try as well! But you don’t need to be a competitive athlete to enjoy rowing and its many benefits of fitness and fun. \nJoin them to give it a try! DESCRIPTION:The Para Athletics Clinic will be held on May 6th from 9:00am – 4:00pm. The session (included with the meet registration) will include a morning and afternoon training session for athletes\, as well as a Try It event for brand new participants from 11:30am – 1:00pm. Provincial classifiers will be on-site to answer classification questions and provide provisional classification. All participants of the para athletics clinic will be provided with lunch. DESCRIPTION:The Argonaut Rowing Club in Toronto invites current or aspiring para-athletes to try rowing on Sunday\, July 17\, 2022. \nRowing is terrific for building strength and cardiovascular fitness\, making it a great cross training pursuit or just an enjoyable way to be active. Rowing is a fully accessible sport as the equipment can be adapted to accommodate the individual needs of the athlete. \nBeing out on the water brings a sense of freedom and the focus it demands clears the mind. For those who join a crew\, pulling together builds tremendous teamwork. \nThe Argonaut Rowing Club has welcomed para-athletes with a wide range of abilities and unique needs\, including the parasport classifications P1\, P2\, and P3. \nTry-it Day\, hosted by our para-athletes and other friendly club members\, is free and includes: \n\nThe opportunity to hear from Paralympian Victoria Nolan about what rowing means to her\nA lesson on the rowing stroke starting on our rowing machines\nContinuing the lesson in a boat\, dockside\nLight refreshments\nTime to experience being by the lake\, at the club\, and to have your questions answered\n\nThere will be 2 sessions – one from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and another from 12 to 1:30 p.m. \nThe club is located on the Toronto waterfront at 1225 Lake Shore Blvd W\, Toronto\, ON M6K 3C1 \nInterested?
