The Toronto Accessible Sports Council (TASC) was established in order to connect the Toronto disabled community with organizations and programs that deliver adapted sports and recreation. We help the diverse group of program deliverers better coordinate services through partnerships and collaboration while increasing awareness of their services to the disabled community.
The mission of TASC is to promote and facilitate accessible sport and recreation opportunities in Toronto. Our goals include promoting existing accessible sport and recreational opportunities, increasing communication among various accessible sport and recreational groups and advocating for the increased development of accessible sport and recreational programs and facilities.
We inspire inclusivity in Toronto and beyond by increasing awareness of and participation in accessible sports and recreation by those living with a disability.
The Toronto Accessible Sports Council (TASC) consists of passionate volunteers directly involved in the adapted sports and recreation sector. The current Board consists of three diverse individuals all of whom bring a wealth of experience and knowledge in their respective fields. As TASC continues to grow we expect our Team to expand and increasingly represent the broad diversity that is present in the City of Toronto.
One of our key goals at TASC is to increase awareness and participation in sport and recreation within the disabled community of Toronto. We help children, youth, adults and seniors with disabilities connect with the organizations already delivering adapted programming across the city.
The Toronto Accessible Sports Council (TASC) strives to bring together the adapted sports and recreation community to share best practices, increase programming awareness and ultimately increase participation within the sector. Our members include all organizations that offer adapted sport and recreation for people of all abilities. We are constantly building our member directory so please contact us to include your program. Once our directory is ready for publishing we will be using AccessToronto.org as our primary portal for delivering all information related to adapted sports and recreation in Toronto.
A great resource for all information pertaining to adapted sport and recreation in the City of Toronto. We will bring personal stories, program successes as well as municipal news relevant to our members and members of the public. Please inform us of anything newsworthy that you’d like us to redistribute.
